My name is Matt and I am the founder of California Ghost Hunters.

I have had paranormal experiences my whole life.  It seems as though everywhere I’ve lived has had paranormal activity. Some of the places had
good activity and some, well… some... wasn’t so good.

I have witnessed everything from objects moving on their own to full body apparitions. These events used to frighten me. Then I began to do research and to investigate ghosts and those things that went bump in the night.

As time went on, people heard about my investigations and findings.
The overwhelming majority suggested I should form a team,
in order to effectively help more of those in need.
In 2006, California Ghost Hunters was formed.

California Ghost Hunters is a group of individuals I’ve gathered together who share my desire to help others cope with their paranormal problems.
Each member brings a unique talent, insight, and perspective to the team. 
Most are searching for answers to their own questions derived
from childhood encounters, such as myself.

As a paranormal investigator, I always try to be level headed and skeptical about what is happening, and expect no less from my team. 
I am very proud of what we do, and the help and support
California Ghost Hunters provides to others.

Nila

 Case Researcher

Nila is a C.G.H. Case Researcher and is great at unearthing information about a location and its history. She's a gusty investigator too, she doesn't run from anything!

About Nila

I’ve always been interested in the paranormal. As a child, ghost stories fascinated me, rather than scared me. The older I get, the more I like the idea that there is much more to this world (our life) than what we can plainly see. I am biology major with a minor in history. The combination of always abiding by analytical thought and factuality affords me the skills required to be both a savvy investigator (knowing how to "debunk") and a detailed researcher. I'm certified in First Aid, Wilderness First Aid, CPR (infant, child, adult). These skills, coupled with my interest in the paranormal, clearly illustrate my desire to help both people and spirits, alike. My goal as an Investigator with C.G.H. is to, at the end of the day, have expanded my knowledge of the paranormal and shared what I've learned with those needing help in understanding and coping with their own ghostly experiences.

Mary Ann is new to the group and is learning how to investigate. She is, however, very experienced in researching and securing locations. Her enthusiasm, eagerness, and kind personality will carry her far in this field.

Lead Investigator

John's very professional yet fun to investigate with.  He's very good at getting spirits to communicate. Always there with an idea or suggestion, he's great at rooting out answers. He's a very good at de bunking things as well.

Stephen

  Demonology

Stephen recently joined C.G.H as an investigator and part of the demonology department. Stephen is a very nice guy. The type of person we want on our team. He has years of customer service skills and is very int paranormal research. He has been trying to find answers for a while and will do it as part of our team now.

About Stephen

I have been interested in the spirit world since I was a child and have had a few personal experiences with ghosts/spirits, including seeing shadows (shadow people). Over the years, I became interested in expanding my understanding of the spirit world. I believe there are many types of spirit energies and entities, besides what we deem ghosts, such as, elementals, angles, and demons. That being said, I carry a healthy dose of skepticism balanced with realism with me on all investigations. Although I grew up in a Christian environment, I've been initiated into three occult traditions: Wicca, Druidic, and Egyptian; each has taken a minimum of a year (plus one day) of study. I continuously expand my knowledge of these traditions and have and developed other interests and skills along the way. I am a Usui Reiki Master specializing in energy work, and experienced in divination, pendulum, tarot, and runes. I consider myself a sensitive, but not a psychic. My goal, as part of the C.G.H. team is to assist those who have a desire to communicate with spirits and, if necessary, to help those spirits move on.

Jonathon

Tech Manager

Jonathon just joined our team and is a very experianced paranormal researcher. He will be in charge of our tech department. He knows the tech department well and can help out in other ways as well. He is a great addition to our team.

 Camera Specialist

Jack-Of-All-Trades is our Camera Specialist and resident electronics expert.

About Jack

I'm a computer-geek by day and photographer junky by night.  I got involved with C.G.H. in mid-2007 and honestly, I was just looking for something to do in my spare time. After seeing one to many picture of camera straps and reflections being labeled by over-enthusiastic spirit-chasers as being ghosts and orbs, my calling became clear.  I wanted to apply my love and knowledge of photography to try and capture real paranormal phenomenon not just orbs.  Most photos claiming to have caught ghostly-activity on camera, have only caught an errant strand of hair reflecting light, dust particles or moisture in the air.  Knowing cameras, how they operate and what they're capable of, affords me the ability to debunk questionable pictures and video.  Being a tech/computer specialist, with a little patience and some tinkering, I can fix anything. Being a licensed electrician, when on investigations I am able to confirm or dispute unusually high EMF readings as being normal to the building or possibly something else, and debunk all those television, stereos, and lights that  seem to spontaneously turn on and off all on their own.

Pengchon 

 Camera Specialist

Pengchon, a filmmaker, knows and understands the relationships between cameras, lens, and light- important attributes when photographing paranormal phenomenon.

About Pengchon

As a spiritualist, I normally meet Angels and spirits that have already entered the light and really haven't had much experience dealing with negative spirits that haunt. I am clairivoyant with strong intuitive and empathic abilities and a natural healing energy. I became involved with California Ghost Hunters because  of my focus and interest in psychic forensics. I want to use my gifts and abilities to help others cope and understand life, death, loss, and our own unique energies.  I am open to all forms of religion and beliefs. On investigations, I tend to be quiet and reserved- opting to observe and analyze the situation and experiences around me, taking photographs and filming the events of the evening.

Amanda

 Investigator

Amanda is my wife and we've been together for 13 years.  She's been through some pretty strange things with me- everything from a room shaking like an earth quake to seeing things move on their own- some pretty crazy stuff. She has never run from anything, be it an unexplainable sound or an unexpected apparition. Even after all she has seen and heard, she's still very skeptical. Her skepticism, logical side and knack at de-bunking things make her a fabulous investigator.  I am very proud of her, and no- I'm not biased!

Gigi

   Investigator-Trainee

Gigi, is new to the group is an Ivestigator-trainee. She will be helping us investigate soon. She is in training right now. She is very smart and has training in healing and other things which gives the group another tool to use in the field.

Candace has been with us from the start. She has a huge heart and wants to help us out in any way she can. She helps us set up cases and runs a lot of the business side of the group on top of her very busy schedule. She is a great case researcher.
